Handcrafted Cold Process Soap
Bar Soap · 100 g

Most bar soaps are made through a fast, high-heat process that strips the plant oils of their nourishing quality along with the dirt.

Cold process soap is made without added heat, so the plant butters and oils keep more of what makes them useful in the first place, then it's left to cure for weeks before it's ready — rather than shipped out overnight.

How it's made

  • Plant oils and butters are mixed with lye at room temperature — no external heat added, which is what "cold process" means
  • Saponification, the reaction that turns oil and lye into soap, happens slowly over the following days
  • Bars are then cured for several weeks, which hardens them and mellows the soap into a gentler bar
  • Each variety is finished with its own specific botanical actives rather than fragrance alone

The three variants

Carrot Papaya — a brightening bar built on carrot's beta-carotene and papaya's natural enzymes, meant for skin that looks tired and uneven rather than any specific complaint.

  • Carrot — contributes beta-carotene, an antioxidant compound
  • Papaya — contains papain, a natural enzyme that helps lift away dead surface skin

Manjishtha Licorice — built around the same blood-purifying root used in the Manjishtha Elixir, paired with licorice, for skin that looks patchy in tone or reacts easily.

  • Manjistha — traditionally used to calm skin and even out tone
  • Licorice root — contains glabridin, studied for its effect on uneven pigmentation

Almond Milk — the gentlest of the three, built for dry or sensitive skin that reacts to most bar soaps.

  • Almond milk — adds fats and proteins that soften the bar's cleansing action, so it feels nourishing rather than stripping

What's inside (all three)

  • Saponified plant oils and butters — the cold-processed base common to all three bars, carrying each variety's actives

How it feels

  • A dense, long-lasting bar with a rich, creamy lather
  • Cleanses without the tight, stripped feeling common to commercial soaps
  • Each variety carries a mild, natural scent from its actives rather than added fragrance

What to expect

  • Skin usually feels clean but not dry immediately after use
  • Tone-related effects from Carrot Papaya or Manjishtha Licorice take several weeks of regular use to show
  • Bars soften faster if left sitting in water, so drainage matters as much as the soap itself

How to use

  • Lather in hands or on a washcloth with warm water and apply to face or body
  • Rinse thoroughly
  • Use daily; keep the bar on a draining soap dish between uses to extend its life
  • Choose the variety that matches your main concern rather than switching between all three

Good to know

  • No sulphates, parabens, or synthetic fragrance
  • Almond Milk suits dry or sensitive skin; Carrot Papaya and Manjishtha Licorice suit normal to oily, uneven-toned skin
  • Store dry between uses; a soap dish with drainage keeps the bar from going soft

Patch test before first use. Discontinue if irritation occurs.
