Balms marketed for "pink lips" are usually a wax stick with a synthetic tint — the colour sits on top and wipes off with your chai.

This one uses Kesar and Manjistha as active ingredients, not a dye, in a shea and mango butter base gentle enough for lips that touch food all day.

Formulated by Sheetal Panjwani over two decades of small-batch Ayurvedic practice.

How it's made

• Shea butter and mango butter melted together as the base
• Kesar and Manjistha infused into the butters over low heat rather than added as fragrance or colourant
• Poured and set in small batches, cooled slowly to keep the texture smooth rather than grainy

What's inside

• Kesar (saffron) — studied for its effect on pigment-producing enzymes; used here for lip tone rather than scent
• Manjistha — supports the same pigment-related effect and is traditionally used for skin tone
• Shea butter — the primary base; deeply moisturising and slow to wear off
• Mango butter — adds slip and a lighter finish so the balm doesn't feel waxy

How it feels

• Soft and creamy on application, not sticky or glossy
• A very faint natural scent from the saffron — no added fragrance
• Melts in with body heat rather than sitting as a thick layer

What to expect

• Dryness and flaking improve within days — this part is fast
• Evening out of dark or pigmented lips is gradual and needs regular use over several weeks to notice
• This works on darkening from dryness, sun, or habit; it won't lighten lips dramatically or permanently

How to use

• Apply as needed through the day, and before bed
• Reapply after eating or drinking, especially hot beverages
• For pigmentation, apply consistently rather than only when lips feel dry
• Safe for regular, frequent use
